last night was nusco concert with bena playing the gaohu. i loved the highly excited first piece (which later became the encore piece) , it took a while to get accustomized to the pitting of western instruments against the chinese ones for the malay medley but the integration of the instruments was..novel. (ok to me) and since we were sitting on the first row, we had to bear with the searingly piercing sound from the suona, which turned out to be rather mindblowing. -.- haha but nonetheless the suona players were seasoned and skilled. there's a bit of connection for the percussion since i'm in it now and it's pretty cool to identify the individual percussion instruments which SURPRISINGLY i could manage. (:
there's this art fest at nus which ends TODAY (no one told me, sob sob sob) and i told jevon i felt like going for some stuff tonight, but damn physics test it owns anything else. i'm taking forever to study 2 chapters of physics too(haven't touch dynamics yet -.-).
my efforts to look for new bands to listen to (ruiyi said hush sound's album is disappointing ):) have been futile as well because all those that i found are either powerpop or the damn-noisy-it-retards-your-thinking kind, which are flooding the underground..market. so i told vany that i'm changing my song taste HAHA to blues/jazz/pop because.. there won't be any that are not nice. (i think) ho hum. righto.
lastly, my general knowledge of politics and happenings around the world is appallingly low it's shocking. :/
